In February 2025, we will joyfully celebrate the momentous occasion of 100th birthday of His Eminence Yongdzin Lopon Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche, the spiritual pillar of Yungdrung Bön. Profoundly imbued with wisdom and compassion, Yongdzin Rinpoche has devoted his life to the preservation, practice, and propagation of the sacred teachings, as well as to the welfare of all sentient beings. Renouncing worldly pursuits, he has embodied the virtues of simplicity, contentment, and altruism, dedicating himself entirely to the benefit of others and the perpetuation of the Dharma.
Throughout his remarkable life, Yongdzin Rinpoche has exemplified the Three Trainings-moral discipline, meditative concentration, and wisdom-with unrelenting dedication and an unshakable resolve to serve all beings. His profound knowledge and immeasurable compassion have guided countless disciples, planting within them the seeds of liberation. During a period when Yungdrung Bön faced the risk of decline, Yongdzin Rinpoche undertook extraordinary hardships to safeguard, revitalize, and transmit its sacred teachings of study, practice, and meditation.
With his unparalleled mastery of knowledge, love, and compassionate energy, Yongdzin Rinpoche has transmitted the complete empowerments, oral transmissions, and quintessential instructions of Sutra, Tantra, and Dzogchen to disciples across the world. His tireless efforts have inspired and guided practitioners on the path to maturation and liberation, making him a shining light for both East and West.
On this momentous centenary, the community of Triten Norbutse Monastery will honor His Eminence Yongdzin Lopon Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche with a grand ceremony, including a Long-Life Prayer Ritual and a Mandala Offering, as a profound expression of gratitude for his extraordinary contributions to the Yungdrung Bön tradition. This sacred occasion also offers an opportunity to pray for his continued health, longevity, and compassionate guidance for the benefit of all beings.
Adding to the joy of this momentous celebration, we are honored to announce the consecration and inauguration of the newly constructed Triten Norbutse Temple. This monumental achievement stands as one of the many enduring legacies of Yongdzin Rinpoche’s enlightened activities, dedicated to benefiting future generations. These historic events will also include the Sixth International Conference on Bön Studies and the Geshe Graduation Ceremony, serving as a vibrant gathering for the global Yungdrung Bön community.
We extend our heartfelt invitation to you and your esteemed associates to join us for this extraordinary celebration of His Eminence Yongdzin Rinpoche’s life and accomplishments. We warmly encourage all devotees and friends of Yungdrung Bön to unite for this unparalleled occasion, strengthening our collective faith, commitment, and the bonds of our spiritual family.
With highest regards, we eagerly anticipate your presence at this sacred gathering.
